TEN of the 203 stranded passengers at the port in Pioduran, Albay tested positive for the deadly coronavirus disease -19.

The result was based on the antigen test conducted by the Provincial Health Office on the stranded passengers.

Passengers got stuck at the Albay Port since August 20 after Masbate Gov. Antonio Kho issued a “no bakuna, no entry” policy for travelers in Masbate.

The move was to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and its variants in the province.

Under the directive, only those fully-vaccinated people will be allowed entry in Masbate.

Pioduran Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office head Noel Ordoña told Bombo Radyo Legazpi that the youngest of the COVID-infected passengers is a one-year-old baby.

The stranded passengers were allowed to go home yesterday while those COVID-stricken individuals were isolated.

Ordoña also placed himself under self quarantine after he himself got in close contact with COVID-positive passengers.
