AT least ten more governors from different provinces in the country have expressed their full support to presidential frontrunner Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., (BBM) during a meeting Sunday night at the BBM national headquarters in Mandaluyong City.

Apart from concerns and priority programs in their respective provinces, Marcos said the informal but intimate meeting with the local chief executives coincided with the second Comelec-sponsored (Commission on Elections) presidential debate and tackled vote protection for the May 9 elections.

The governors were led by Quirino Gov. Dakila Cua, president of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP).

Also present were Govs. Imelda Dimaporo, of Lanao del Norte; Francisco Emmanuel Ortega III, of La Union; Nancy Catamco, of Cotabato; Esteban Evan Contreras, of Capiz; Damian Mercado, of Southern Leyte; Ferdinand Tubban of Kalinga; Joy Bernos of Abra; Jerry Dalipog, of Ifugao; and Camiguin gubernatorial bet Rep. Xavier Jesus Romualdo.

“Makikita niyo merong mga gobernador from Luzon, meron ding Visayas at meron ding Mindanao, so maganda rin ang representation sa very small at intimate gathering,” Gov. Cua said in an interview after the meeting.

The local chief executives also assured their full support to the BBM-Sara UniTeam.

“Yung suporta is given.

“Yung ating mga kasamahan na dumalo tonight voluntarily supporting our friend and our presidentiable, Senator BBM. Aside from that, it’s an open dialogue para makuha naman ang concern at mga pangangailangan at mga prayoridad ng ibat-ibang gobernador all over the country,” the governor added.

The governors said they chose to support the UniTeam because of its clear government platform and the call for unity that the country needs, especially during this pandemic.

His experience in the local government really coincides with a lot of experience of other local governments,” Cua noted.

Cua also believed that Marcos would be an effective leader because of his experience in the local government.

For his part, Marcos welcomed the support and endorsement of local chief executives who inevitably join the bandwagon of almost all major political parties in the country is, supporting and reinforcing the BBM-Sara UniTeam’s front-running position.
