1 dead, 6 hurt in Antipolo road mishap
ONE woman died, and five passengers, including the trike driver, were injured after an Isuzu Hi-lander AUV (Asian utility vehicle) crashed into the tricycle while traveling on a highway in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Antipolo City Tuesday morning.
According to Antipolo City traffic enforcer OPSS Marvin Montenegro, they turned over the driver of the AUV and the vehicle to the authorities for impounding.
Based on the initial investigation of Antipolo Police, at about 11:50 a.m. on Nov. 15, the suspect was seen driving the Isuzu AUV in Bgy. Sta Cruz, Antipolo City, when it allegedly lost its brakes and hit the tricycle in front of him with six passengers onboard.
The trike driver and all his passengers sustained injuries and were brought to the Antipolo District Hospital for medical treatment.
However, one female passenger was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The AUV driver is now under the Antipolo City Police Station’s custody for filing an appropriate court case.
