1 dead, 3 hurt in M/V General Romulo fire
THREE passengers were injured at the M/V General Romulo which caught fire at the waters off Talisay, Cebu, Sunday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported.
An official statment issued by the PCG said M/V General Romulo had 20 crew members on board when the incident occurred.
The PCG said Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Talisay received information that M/V General Romulo, a container ship and domestic vessel, caught on fire while anchored at the v waters off Talisay City.
Personnel of CGSS Talisay and Talisay City Bantay Dagat responded to the incident and conducted a medical evacuation. BRP Malamawi (FPB-2403), Special Operation Unit (SOU)-Central Visayas, and Coast Guard Medical Central Visayas have been directed to proceed to the area for assistance.
The cause of fire remained undetermined as of press time, said PCG.
