1 dead, 2 injured after dump truck loses control
CARMONA, Cavite – One mechanic died, and two persons were injured in a road crash of a dump truck along Governor’s Drive, Bgy. Mabuhay, Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
P/SSg. Charles Virtudez of Carmona Police Office identified the victims as Anicor Yuson, male, 47, single, mechanic and a resident of Roseville Subd., Camarin, Caloocan City (deceased); Jerome Carlos, 38, single, helper, of Governor’s Drive, Mabuhay, Carmona, Cavite (injured); and Rodolfo Ibañez, 50, married, a carpenter and helper, of Purok 2, Bgy. Langkiwa, Biñan City, Laguna (injured).
According to the investigation report, the truck driver identified as Leonardo Sanggalan Jr., 24, of Calevity St., Suñiga Farm, San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal was driving a Shackman dump truck and traversing the Governor’s Drive in Bgy. Mabuhay road heading towards Biñan, Laguna, when suddenly the dump truck lost its brakes and accidentally bumped to a container van used to be a barracks by the workers of Ekspertow Corporation causing the said container van to collapse and hit the victims who were working at that time on the area.
As a result, the three victims sustained injuries on different parts of their bodies and were immediately rushed to Carmona Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.
Unfortunately, Yuson was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
In addition, four motorcycles, a Honda Civic sedan, and Mitsubishi L-300 were also damaged in the said incident.
The dump truck driver is now under the custody of Carmona MPS for proper disposition.
